One of Donald Trumps former White House lawyers is speaking out about what he sees as a clear acceleration in the presidents mental decline.
Ty Cobb served as special counsel back in 2018 during Trumps first term and he believes things have gotten noticeably worse since then. In a recent interview he explained that Trumps vocabulary has shrunk quite a bit and the president now leans much more heavily on profanity along with impulsive threats that come across as unpredictable.

Cobb recalled how different the atmosphere felt during his time working directly for Trump. Strong advisors like General John Kelly General Jim Mattis and Nikki Haley were there to step in and talk the president down whenever he pushed for something that seemed way out of bounds. Those kinds of guardrails simply are not present in the current administration he said.
As an outside observer now Cobb expressed real fear that any true cognitive decline could leave Trump vulnerable to manipulation by other world leaders. He specifically suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have taken advantage of the situation around recent decisions involving Iran.
A string of recent moments have stood out to Cobb and plenty of others watching from afar. Trump has clashed publicly with Pope Leo the Fourteenth rambled during the White House Easter Egg Roll shared an artificial intelligence image of himself as Jesus issued threats toward Cuba and a journalist and fired off some fiery late night posts on Truth Social. One Easter morning message aimed at Iran warned Open the f ing Strait you crazy bastards or you will be living in Hell just watch and then oddly closed with the words Praise be to Allah.
The White House pushed back hard against Cobbs comments. Officials accused him of suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome and suggested he should seek psychiatric help right away. They even took a personal swipe telling him to shave that caterpillar off his face in reference to his mustache while praising Trumps sharpness unmatched energy and accessibility especially compared to how they described the previous administration.
