New Ring Camera Video Captures Speeding Car 2.5 Miles from Nancy Guthrie Home Right After Suspected Abduction

Here’s the latest on the search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, who’s been missing from her Tucson home since early February.

Neighbors are stepping up in a big way, digging through their own doorbell cameras for anything that might help. A couple living about 2.5 miles away—Elias and Danielle Stratigouleas—shared some Ring footage with Fox News. It shows a car speeding along a quiet back road that leads out of Nancy’s neighborhood, avoiding the main streets. This was around 2:36 a.m. on February 1, just minutes after authorities say her pacemaker stopped syncing with her phone at 2:28 a.m.

That timing lines up closely with what investigators believe happened: her Nest doorbell camera got tampered with and went offline around 1:47 a.m., then motion was detected at 2:12 a.m. The home where this new video came from wasn’t even in the initial two-mile radius the sheriff’s office asked people to check, and it fell outside their earlier time windows too. Police hadn’t made it to that area in the 25 days since she vanished.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office told outlets like Fox and NBC they’re aware of the footage but wouldn’t say if it’s turning into a solid lead or not. It’s one more piece in a really tough puzzle.

Nancy was last seen by family after dinner with her daughter Annie on the evening of January 31. She didn’t show up for a virtual church service the next morning, and that’s when everyone realized something was wrong. The FBI released images from her own doorbell cam showing a masked, armed person approaching the door—pretty chilling stuff.

The family is desperate for answers. Savannah posted an emotional video earlier this week, announcing they’re offering up to $1 million for any info that leads to Nancy’s safe return. They’re also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The FBI’s own $100,000 reward is still out there too.

It’s been almost a month now, and the hope is hanging on. The sheriff has cleared the entire Guthrie family as suspects, calling them cooperative victims in all this. If anyone has tips, even small ones, they’re urged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900. You can stay anonymous.

Hoping for good news soon—Nancy’s loved ones are aching for her to come home.
