Former Vice President Kamala Harris took aim at the Trump administration while on a recent leg of her book tour.
Harris, who lost out to Trump by a landslide in the most recent US presidential election, is currently touring her native country to promote 107 Days, a political memoir detailing her failed bid to become the first female to reach the highest seat in the White House.
Harris was suddenly thrust into the race as the Democratic nominee after Joe Biden withdrew, and though the election itself was tipped to be an excruciatingly close affair, ultimately Trump won by a considerable margin.
Given the nature of Trumpโs tactics when it comes to waging war on political opponents, it should hardly come as a surprise that Harrisโ time in the direct firing line โ however brief โ left some smarting wounds.
Promotion for her autobiography, for example, includes a confession that losing to Trump was โas painful as the death of her motherโ, as well as her claiming she believed the Republican party leader to be a โcon manโ.
In perhaps her most explosive snipe yet, however, Harris went viral on Monday, October 6, after slamming the Trump administration, labeling them โm***erf***ersโ.
While speaking at theย Day of Unreasonable Conversationย summit inย Los Angelesย on Monday (October 6), Harris said: โWe are livingย historyย right now, and you all storytellers are living this. Youโre not passive observers, you know that.
โYouโre living it, and I would ask you that all the emotions that we are feeling โ give those emotions, give that experience to those people that you are writing about and writing for. It gets back to my point about helping people just put a label on it, even if it doesnโt change the circumstance.โ
She went on: โBecause there is so much about this moment that is trying to make people feel like theyโve lost their minds, when in fact, these m***erf***ers are crazy!โ
Itโs alleged that the audience then began cheering and clapping, causing Harris to laugh.
โI call this โThe Freedom Tour,โโ she added after the crowd had quieted down.
As for her exact feelings in the aftermath of losing to Trump, the Hollywood Reporter claim Harris couldnโt โarticulate anythingโ after losing the election battle.
โI kept saying over and over again, โMy God, my God.โ I had never felt that level of pain and grief except when my mother died, and I was grieving for the country. I knew what was going to happen,โ she said.
Harrisโ appearance at theย Day of Unreasonable Conversationย summit earlier this week comes after she revealed inย her memoir that Trump had made a rather surprising comment to her in private.
The alleged incident occurred after the second assassination attempt on Trumpโs life, for whichย Ryan Wesley Routh was found guiltyย on September 23. Harris claimed in her memoir that Trump had called her after the September 2024 incident and promised to be โnicerโ to her.
โHow do I say bad things about you now? Iโm going to tone it down. I will. Youโre going to see,โ Trump said.
