Susan Lucci, best known for her role of Erica Kane in theย ABCย daytime dramaย All My Children, was contacted by theย Golden Bacheloretteย to be their next leading lady, but claimed โit wasnโt for her,โ according to the actress herself.
Speaking toย People,ย Lucci, said, โI believe that they contacted my publicist and it wasnโt for me. I watchedย The Golden Bachelor. I really enjoyed watchingย The Golden Bachelor. This is a new addiction for me.โ
In fact, she had never been a fan of the show until recently, when she got hooked and started watching it.
โMy assistant told me she was going home to watchย The Bachelorย with her daughters,โ she recalled. โShe said, โWell, itโs really good.โ I watched it. The first time I watched it was that night a couple seasons ago. I was immediately engaged, I cared. I wanted to know more about these people.โ
While the show turned into her โnew guilty pleasure,โ Lucci said she โdidnโt pursue [it] when they called my publicist to see if I would be interested.โ
โIt wasnโt for me, but I do love watching,โ sheย added. โIโm a fan. I love watching.โ
ABC announced that Joan Vassos, a former Golden Bachelor contestant, will star as the Golden Bachelorette.
When it comes to Susan Lucci, her career has been a rich one.

Lucci was married to husband Helmut Huber for 52 years. Sadly, he passed away in 2022 at the age of 84. The couple shared two children and many grandchildren together.
