Tiffany Trumpโs pregnancy was revealed in October when her father, businessman-turned-president Donald Trump, shared the news with the crowd at an event at the Detroit Economic Club.
CNNย reported at the time that Trump said his daughter was a โvery exceptional young womanโ before adding that โsheโs gonna have a baby. So thatโs nice.โ
Tiffanyโs child would be Trumpโs 11th grandchild.
Her mother, Marla Maples, and Donald Trump split in 1997, after which Tiffany stayed with her mom.
Marla wanted her daughter to grow up away from her fatherโs shadow and discover her own identity.
Although she didnโt grow up alongside her siblings, Tiffany has a close relationship with the rest of her fatherโs children, especially Ivanka Trump.
Although she stayed with her mother following her parentsโ divorce, Tiffany followed in her fatherโs footsteps by attending the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2016. However, unlike most of her siblings, she opted not to jump into real estateโinstead, she stepped into the political spotlight, making appearances on the campaign trail and addressing the nation during the Republican National Convention.
โLike my father, I never back down from challenges, so here I am, a little new to the convention scene, but very honored and confident in the man America is coming to know,โ Tiffany said.
In 2020, Tiffany graduated from Georgetown Law School and her father made sure he showed the world just how proud he was.
โGreat student, great school,โ Donald wrote on Twitter. โJust what I need is a lawyer in the family. Proud of you, Tiff!โ
Back in 2004, while speaking of his children, Donald Trump made a rather awkward comment about Tiffany.
โYou know I have another daughter, with Marla, named Tiffany?โ Trump told New York Magazine. โSheโs just a beautiful great kid also. But itโs very separate. When you have separate wives, itโs sort of โฆ separate. Marla was a good person, as was Ivana. But Iโm married to my business. Itโs been a marriage of love. So, for a woman, frankly, itโs not that easy in terms of relationships. But there are a lot of assets.โ
Marla Maples said that Trumpโs statement about the relationship with his job was true.
โThere were times when all of us wished we had more of Donaldโs ear and his focus, especially when weโd have family dinners on Friday,โ sheย said. โโCan you turn off the financial news for a moment, please?โ But those kids always knew that he was unique in a way, that heโs got to run that company. Iโve watched that also with Tiffany. A lot of the fathers are here for all her basketball games, but she knows her dad loves her.โ
According to a source close to Tiffany, the relationship between Donald and Tiffany has always been a strained one, and it turned even more awkward after he took office.
โSince the inauguration, Tiffany and her father have sometimes gone months without speaking, and she went a very long time without seeing him,โ the source told People Magazine. โThe last time she was at a family function with him, it was awkward for her, and she didnโt feel totally welcome.
โThey always had a strained relationship her whole life, and it got exacerbated by the presidency,โ the source continued. โItโs gotten much worse now.โ
In April, Tiffany had a Peter Rabbit-themed baby shower planned by Ivanka Trump during which she wore a floor-length blue dress with floral embellishments and posed cradling her baby bump.
She captioned the photos: โ1 month,โ and added a bear and blue heart emojis.
However, while her half-sister Ivanka was the one organizing the event, Melania Trump didnโt show up. At the time, she was in New York with her son Barron Trump.
Sources close to the Trumps claim that Tiffany and Melaniaโs relationship is a close one, but that there wasnโt โany reasonโ for the First Lady to be there. Instead, Melania has her own schedule, even on weekends.โย It seems like n o matter how well she gets along with her stepchildren, Melania always puts her son on the top of the list of her priorities.
