Donald Trump and Rosie Oโ€™Donnell arenโ€™t exactly best of friends. The comedian decided to leave the US when Donald Trump was elected president for a second time, and as sheโ€™s lashed out against him several times, Trump has responded. Now, the President of the United States has made another move, threatening to revoke Oโ€™Donnellโ€™s citizenship. It didnโ€™t take long for the comedian to answer.ย ย

Shortly before Donald Trumpโ€™s inauguration in January, American-born comedian and actress Rosie Oโ€™Donnell had decided that enough was enough. Speaking with CNN at the time, she stated that she and her nonbinary child wouldnโ€™t be safe in the US anymore, and therefore decided to move to Ireland.

โ€œI knew after reading Project 2025 that if Trump got in, it was time for me and my nonbinary child to leave the country,โ€ she said. โ€œI have no regrets. Not a day has gone by that I thought it was the wrong decision. I was welcomed with open arms.โ€

Rosie Oโ€™Donnell and Donald Trump have clashed for many years. Back in 2006, while Oโ€™Donnell was the host of The View, she called Trump a โ€œsnake-oil salesman on Little House On The Prairie,โ€ and said he went bankrupt, something Donald Trump said was not true.

Meanwhile, Trump has called Rosie Oโ€™Donnell many names over the years, including a โ€œpigโ€ and โ€œdumb.โ€

After her words on Trump on The View in 2006, Trump answered, saying, โ€œYou canโ€™t make false statements. Rosie will rue the words she said. Iโ€™ll most likely sue her for making those false statements โ€“ and itโ€™ll be fun. Rosieโ€™s a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice, fat little Rosie.โ€

Now, Donald Trump has been quite provoked by Rosie Oโ€™Donnell once again. However, this time it got pretty serious.

Donald Trump threatens to revoke Rosie Oโ€™Donnellโ€™s citizenship

On his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Donald Trump reignited his clash with Oโ€™Donnell, stating that he was considering revoking her citizenship, even though she was born in the US.

โ€œBecause of the fact that Rosie Oโ€™Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,โ€ย Trump wrote. โ€œShe is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!โ€

Some months ago, Steve Vladeck, CNN Supreme Court analyst and professor at Georgetown Law, stated that the threat of โ€œcoercive expatriationโ€ was a โ€œpatently unconstitutional move.

โ€œFor good reasons, it is difficult to denaturalize a U.S. citizen and even harder to expatriate one,โ€ Vladeckย wrote. โ€œCongress has provided for only a handful of circumstances in which the executive branch is empowered to pursue such a move; and the Supreme Court has recognized meaningful constitutional limits (and an entitlement to meaningful judicial review) even in those cases.โ€

Rosie Oโ€™Donnell claims Trump is a โ€œdanger to the worldโ€

So what did Rosie Oโ€™Donnell think of Donald Trump and the threat of revoking her citizenship? It didnโ€™t take long until she responded. Writing on Instagram, the comedian and actress said, โ€œyou want to revoke my citizenship? go ahead and try, king joffrey with a tangerine spray tan. iโ€™m not yours to silence. i never was.โ€

On Sunday, Rosie Oโ€™Donnell appeared on the Irish radio broadcaster RTE Radio 1 and further spoke about Trumpโ€™s threat. She said the President of the United States is a โ€œdanger to the world.โ€

โ€œI am very proud to be opposed to every single thing he says and does and represents. I think heโ€™s a racist and heโ€™s misogynistic and heโ€™s sexist,โ€ Oโ€™Donnell said and continued to explain her thoughts on the threat about getting her citizenship taken away.

โ€œI know he canโ€™t do that, but the Supreme Court has given him unbridled powers, and who knows what he can and canโ€™t do,โ€ she continued. โ€œHe shouldnโ€™t be allowed to be doing what he is to immigrants in the United States without due process, but heโ€™s doing it anyway. This is not America. This is not democracy.โ€
