Barron Trump branded “zoo animal” by past student president

Barron Trump has started a new chapter of his life in New York City. In 2021, he left the White House with his parents, Donald and Melania Trump, and settled in Palm Beach, Florida. Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy in May and now attends Stern Business School at New York University. Although the president’s son isn’t exactly known for making much noise, he has become the center of attention.

In mid-February, Vanity Fair published an article in which the president of NYU’s College Republican club, Kaya Walker, called Barron “an oddity.” She was forced to resign after her comments went viral, with many Republicans reportedly furious. Now, Republican students have had their say on Barron—and it’s safe to say that they are excited about his future.

Barron is back in the city he was raised in. Last fall, the 18-year-old son of Donald Trump enrolled at Stern Business School at New York University (NYU).

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Donald Trump explained that his son considered following in his footsteps by attending Pennsylvania University’s Wharton School. Ultimately, however, he opted to pursue further education in the Big Apple. Stern Business School is considered one of America’s best business schools, with only 1 in 20 applicants making it onto the undergraduate program.

“It’s a very high-quality place. He liked it. He liked the school,” Donald said. “We liked NYU. I’ve known NYU for a long time, but it’s one of the highest-rated schools.”

“I went to Wharton, and that was certainly one that we were considering. We didn’t do that,” Trump continued. “We went for Stern. He’s a very high-aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child. He’s just passed into something beyond childhood, he’s doing great.”

Barron is, of course, protected by the Secret Service, which trails him everywhere he goes. Agents reportedly drive him to school, where he attends classes and then returns home.

Barron Trump’s life at New York University

The Daily Mail went to the NYU campus last year to speak with some students, one of whom speculated that Barron might have to change his outlook on life to fit in.

“He’s going to NYU, so if he is at all interested in girls, he’s going to become kind of liberal, I’ll tell you that,’ one student said.

Another student stated: “My mom is going to want me to marry him,” while a third expressed they felt “really bad for him” as he “did not choose this life.”

A fourth added: “His dad is his dad, and he is own person so I’m not going to judge,” adding that she would definitely consider a friendship. “Of course, who wouldn’t want to be friends with a Trump?”

As with his high school life in Palm Beach, Florida, little is known about Barron’s school performance and social life. However, according to a People Magazine source, he is well-liked among the girls.

“He’s at Stern, so he’s studying business in some way,” a source told People. “He’s a ladies man for sure, he’s really popular with the ladies.”

The insider added: “He’s tall and handsome. A lot of people seem to think he’s pretty attractive — yes, even liberal people like him.”

Barron Trump played a crucial role in Donald’s presidential election victory

Barron became the center of attention on Inauguration Day as he watched his father get sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. The 18-year-old has always gotten a lot of attention for his height, but this time, it wasn’t so much his appearance as his actions that became the focus.

Donald Trump has praised his son for helping him win the election. On Inauguration Day, while giving a speech to fans at Capital One Arena in Washington, the president decided to introduce his son to the crowd. Barron stood up and received applause from thousands of fans.

Shortly after the election, President Trump revealed that Barron helped him connect with Gen Z voters through influences and podcasters. In his speech to his supporters, the president asked the crowd if they had heard of his “tall son,” to which they responded with loud cheers.

“He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” Trump said. “He was saying,’ dad, I got to go out and to this and that one and we did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood it very well, he said’ dad, you got to go out and do Joe Rogan, all these guys that we did. They were all great, right? Barron, they were all great.”

And Donald wasn’t the only family member to praise Barron for his efforts during the presidential campaign. Speaking to Fox in December, Melania said her son was “very vocal” in advising Donald, especially regarding how to connect with the younger voters.

“He is a grown young man. I’m very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving an advice to his father — he brought in so many young people. He knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore. They’re all on the tablets, they’re on the phones, and all of these podcasts and streamers,” Melania said.

NYU club president resigns after calling Barron Trump an “oddity on campus”

She added: “He was very vocal, and he gave an advice to his father, and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to.”

Now, Barron is back in school, and while he hardly makes an effort to stand out, he has become the center of attention, not only on-campus but all over the country.

In mid-February, Vanity Fair published an article on Barron in which the president of NYU’s College Republican club, Kaya Walker, offered some answers. When asked about Barron’s life at the school, she said he’s “sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home.”

Several large accounts published the tweet on X. The news site AF Post, a platform advocating for the “America First” movement, posted it on February 16, and it went viral. The post has been seen by more than 9 million, and before long Walker found herself in the middle of what some would call a media storm. On February 18, Walker announced that she was resigning as president of NYU’s College Republican Club.

On Monday, she wrote an open letter about her resignation after being advised to resign by the College Republicans of America.

“I must consider the health of our organization,” Walker wrote. “I do apologize to everyone that I love and respect that was caught in the crosshairs of this willful and malicious misreading of my comment.”

“He’s kind of watched like a zoo animal”

In an interview with The New York Post, Walker spoke about what had happened. She explained that, in her view, her remark was taken out of context and that she regretted resigning from her post as president.

“I’ve been killing myself trying to support the conservative movement,” Walker said. “Everybody knows that it’s an uphill battle being a Republican at NYU. I’ve put my everything into building up my chapter. I built [attendance] up exponentially. It’s been insane, especially this past year, we’ve seen such a rise in membership and had such a great time.”

She continued: “[AF Post] took it to say that I was saying that Barron was strange for being a commuter — which I thought was crazy because I’m a commuter. They [made it] look like I was calling the president’s son weird, but I feel like anybody who can read would know that’s not what I was doing.”

Walker concluded: “I just feel bad that he’s having this hard college experience, and I understand that he wants to be left alone.

“I don’t even know Baron Trump. I campaigned for his father. Why would I have any ill intent towards him?” She also stated that Barron is “watched like a zoo animal.”

College Republicans says Barron Trump is the “future of conservative movement”

The College Republicans of America, which, according to the NY Post, has more than 200 chapters nationwide, also issued a statement after Walker’s comments. The organization stated that her comment on Barron “does not align with the values and principles upheld by our organization” and that it was “inappropriate.” Moreover, the College Republicans of America also extended an invitation to Barron to join its NYU branch.

“Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join College Republicans of America,” College Republicans of America President Will Donahue said.

“Strong leadership is built on resilience, courage, and the humility to rise above petty hostility — qualities that Barron has already demonstrated. We invite Barron to join us in shaping the future of our party,” he added.

USA Today went to the New York University campus on Tuesday to speak with students about their views on what had happened. No one wanted to appear with their name, but they all agreed that the incident had been exaggerated.

“”We have not yet heard from Barron”

Elaborating on the statement, the College Republicans of America President Will Donahue spoke to USA Today about what comes next for Barron. And there is no question that they believe the president’s son has a bright future.

“We believe that MAGA is the future of the conservative movement and that the youth will spearhead the institutionalization of Trump’s policies in our politics,” he said. “Young people want fair trade, reasonable immigration policy, and no new wars, and that is what MAGA offers,.”

He added that the College Republicans’ goal is to “empower, train, and develop the next generation of Republican leaders.”

“We have not yet heard from Barron,” he concluded.
