Donald Trump will take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States today, January 20. Melania Trump, his wife, will accompany him in front of the Capitol, where hundreds of people stormed the building just four years ago.
Hopefully, the handover of power will be calm this time. According to all accounts, Melania and Donald have spent months getting ready to seize control of the White House. Melania, who was born in Slovenia, has already published her memoir and announced a new television program.
Melania has been in the fashion industry for a long time. Before she met her husband, she started working as a model in New York City. She has worn many stylish dresses throughout the years, but some people noted a significant shift in her style while she served as First Lady during Trump’s first time in office. It’s interesting to note that not everyone wants to help her; it turns out that a lot of designers have turned down Melania’s requests recently, and one designer may know why.
Donald and Melania Trump return to the White House on Monday, January 20. Trump has been explicit about his goals for his second term since the former The Apprentice star and real estate tycoon won the presidency in November.
Melania released her memoir, Melania, weeks before the election, and the First Lady announced a fresh move to become much more visible a few days before the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. Melania and her son, Barron, have not been spotted in public since departing the White House in 2020. However, the former model will make her comeback to the global scene as part of an upcoming documentary in addition to appearing in front of paparazzi cameras.
Amazon announced on January 6 that they have started shooting a new behind-the-scenes movie about Melania, the soon-to-be first lady. A follow-up documentary series is apparently being prepared in addition to the documentary, which will be released in theatres later this year.
Regarding if they would like to collaborate with Melania for the inauguration, representatives for designer labels like House of Gilles, Diotima’s Rachel Scott, Zankov’s Sergio Hudson, and Michael Kors declined to comment. In the past, designers like Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, and Tom Ford openly refused to wear Melania during Donald Trump’s first administration.
French designer Hervé Pierre is among several who have collaborated extensively with Melania throughout the years. He clarified in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily that he hasn’t received a satisfactory response to the reasons why certain individuals refuse to collaborate with the First Lady.
“For the good reason that the fashion industry is not very welcoming [of Trump], I don’t really do that.” There’s no secret about that,” he clarified. Some people have a lot of flexibility and could accomplish something unique. However, many people aren’t. The French designer recounted an instance in which his life was adversely affected by his work with the Trumps. One guy told him he “was not welcome here” when he was shopping in a New York City designer store. “I know you can be critical of Mrs. Trump, but telling someone who is coming to shop at full price, ‘You are not welcome here,’ is unacceptable.” I would never have anticipated that,” Pierre remarked.
Here in New York, there are some very beautiful designers. Europeans are more accepting. Because of the media attention she is receiving, they view dressing Mrs. Trump as a business opportunity to increase sales and earn free publicity.
