If you use medications like antibiotics, analgesics, etc. frequently, your kidneys may get damaged. The most harmful medications that could endanger the condition of your kidneys are listed below.
antibiotics such as sulfonamides, methicillin, vancomycin, and ciprofloxacin.
Acetaminophen is an analgesic. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) include ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen, and others.
Antiviral medications: acyclovir is used to treat herpes infections, and indinavir and tenofovir are used to treat HIV.
anticonvulsants such phenytoin (often referred to as Dilantin) and trimethadione, which are used to treat seizures.
COX-2 inhibitors: Valdexocib, Rofecoxib, and Celecoxib (the last two were removed because of damage to the cardiovascular system). Although these medications are thought to be safe for the stomach, they pose the same risk to the kidneys as other NSAIDs.
