Keanu Reeves is one of the most beloved celebrities of his generation. There is perhaps no one who has met him who would speak an ill word of him. So when the beloved actor revealed something unfortunate that happened to him, a lot of people were immediately concerned.
Keanu Reeves has recently been busy filming his latest project Good Fortune. The actor appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this week and recounted a story which had some people concerned.
The 59-year-old actor shared how he broke his kneecap while filming. Reeves, who is known for his action-packed filmography with movies like The Matrix and the John Wick series, revealed how he was felled by a rather innocuous thing.
Colbert asked Reeves, โWhat happened? Who got to you?โ
The actor replied playfully in a tough guy voice, โNo one got to me,โ adding, โAccident got to me.โ
โWere you jumping from building to building? Were you doing a cartwheel past razor blades? What were you doing?โ Stephen further probed.
โNo, Stephen, I was walking into the dressing room, a room. I will tell it quick,โ Keanu explained.
Keanu shared that it happened while he was filming a scene for an upcoming comedy titledย Good Fortuneย with Aziz Ansari, andย Seth Rogen. The three of them were in a cold plunge, and Keanu was enjoying it. After they finished, he started doing the โcold shuffleโ in a room with protective carpets. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in a pocket as he was doing so.
Keanu stood up to demonstrate what had happened by walking in front of Stephenโs desk and showed how his knee gave way. โAnd I spiked. Like, spiked,โ heย said, mimicking what had happened to him. โJust drove it into the ground.โ
โMy patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip. But I didnโt know that. But then once my knee was blowing up,โ Keanu went on.
โComedy is hard, man,โ Keanu added as a joke.
โThis was not an action film with Aziz and Rogen,โ Stephen clarified once again.
โNo, it was comedy,โ Keanu confirmed.
โWelcome to my life,โ Stephen joked.
Keanu had been spotted filming while on crutches in January this year with an ice pack on his knee.
Good Fortuneย not only stars Aziz Ansari but will also be his directorial debut. The actor wrote and co-produced the movie which also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
