Trump threatens to deport beloved actor after they urged Americans to resist the administration

Trump threatens to deport Robert De Niro after the actor called him an ‘idiot’ who is going to ‘ruin the country’.

Donald Trump has threatened to deport Robert De Niro, 82, after the Oscar-winning actor publicly urged Americans to resist his administration.

De Niro made the comments during an appearance on Nicolle Wallace’s The Best People podcast, calling Trump “an idiot” and encouraging fellow Americans to push back against what he described as increasingly oppressive leadership.

“We gotta get rid of him,” De Niro said. “He’s gonna ruin the country. I don’t want everybody going around with their MAGA, the American flags, like they’re the only ones. We are Americans too.”

The actor had also hosted a political event called the State of the Swamp on the same night Trump delivered his State of the Union address, telling attendees to “be ready to take to the streets together” if they wanted to take their country back.

Trump’s response on Truth Social

Trump’s Truth Social reply was lengthy, personal and characteristic.

He described De Niro as “Trump Deranged,” “sick and demented” and possessing “an extremely Low IQ,” and suggested he should get on a boat and leave the United States alongside Democratic congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, whom he also targeted in the same post.

For context, De Niro was born in New York City.

“They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying – some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!” Trump wrote.

He also brought Rosie O’Donnell into the post, referencing her move to Ireland following Trump’s second inauguration. He compared De Niro unfavorably to her, writing that O’Donnell was “probably somewhat smarter than him, which isn’t saying much.”

Trump closed the post by signing it in full: “PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
