Sad verdict on Melania Trump amid East Wing demolition

Melania Trumpโ€™s East Wing office is no more as Donald is building his $300 million ballroom at the spot. But even though his wife can relocate, an expert has now shared a sad verdict on the First Lady and her role within Donaldโ€™s presidency.

Donald Trumpโ€™s demolition of the East Wing to make room for his new ballroom has brought both positive and negative reactions. Many were furious over it, while others believe itโ€™s the right thing to do.

Melania Trump spent, at least for her first term as First Lady, a lot of time in the East Wing. Just like first ladies in office before her, the former modelโ€™s office were located in the East Wing, but as the demolition began, she had to move.

The East Wing demolition included the Office of the First Lady, the East Colonnade, and the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden. One who was not happy about the demolition was Melania Trumpโ€™s former chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham. She worked for Melanai during their first presidential term, and said the decision to remove the east wing onย CNNย โ€œbreaks her heart.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s something that could never be put back,โ€ Grisham said. โ€œI wish they would have gone about it in a better wayโ€ฆ I canโ€™t help wonder what [Melania] thinks of how all of this is taking place.โ€

She added, โ€œI certainly didnโ€™t expect it to be demolished like a condemned house over three days or so.โ€

Melania Trump โ€expressed worriesโ€™ over East Wing teardown

Besides having her office there, Melania actually did some other work in the areas that are now destroyed. For example, in 2018, she had 40 blood-red trees in the East Colonnade planted to honor those who had lost their lives while in military service.

According to theย Wall Street Journal, the First Lady has expressed her worries behind closed doors. The newspaper, citing administration officials, claims she tells her associates she has nothing to do with the project because it isnโ€™t hers.

Meanwhile, the demolition of the East Wing can also be seen in another light regarding Melania Trumpโ€™s role within her husbandโ€™s administration.

The First Lady has reportedly appointed only five full-time employees for her second term at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now all of them have moved to other parts of the White House. But while it might be easy to move officeโ€™s, the demolition could tell us something more about how prioritized Melania really is.

Melania Trumpโ€™s second First Lady term has been a quiet one, as sheโ€™s mainly been keeping to herself. The Slovenian-born have made some public appearances and held a number of speeches, but mainly, her time has been dedicated to other tings.

Expert claims Melania Trumpโ€™s opinion โ€œiddnโ€™t carry a lot of weightโ€

Speaking with The Guardian, Katherine AS Sibley, a professor of history at St Josephโ€™s University, stated that the East Wing was โ€œwhere first ladies could carry out the important work that they do.โ€ But as itโ€™s now been demolished, it says a lot about the Trump administrationโ€™s attitude toward Melania.

โ€œThe destruction of the East Wing just shows how little the White House cares about the position of first lady,โ€ Sibley added. โ€œHad Obama proposed such a change, Michelle might have said, โ€˜Wait a minute. That is my office.โ€™ Itโ€™s not surprising that [Melaniaโ€™s] wish to keep the building maybe didnโ€™t carry a lot of weight.โ€
